To celebrate this year's National Science Popularization Day, the Haizhu National Wetland Park, located in Guangzhou, South China's Guangdong province, held three science popularization activities from Sept 16 to 23.
An activity called “Green Beauty Science Day”, was open to households with children aged 9 to 14 from 9 to 11 am on Sept 16. During the event, visitors were trained to test and examine the wetland's air and water quality, status of biodiversity, among other things.
A guide teaches kids to use computers and microscopes to check data of the wetland.

Apart from that, there was another engaging activity for families with children aged 7 to 12. By observing the natural elements in the wetland area, including flowers, birds, insects, and trees, participants can better understand the relationship between human and nature.
Additionally, a bird-watching event with no age limit was held at the bank of Haizhu Lake, where participants could savor birds' songs and dance, following the instructions on how to use binoculars.
