The Annual Meeting of the Photobiophysics Academic Committee of the Biophysical Society of China (BSC) & the 10th China Photobiology Academic Conference took place in Kunming, Southwest China's Yunnan province, from Sept 26 to 28, 2023.

The event brought together prominent researchers and experts in the field of photobiophysics to exchange knowledge and discuss their latest research advancements.

The conference kicked off with opening remarks by Dong Yuhui, vice-director of the Institute of High Energy Physics at the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and chair of the BSC Photobiophysics Academic Committee. In his speech, Dong emphasized international collaboration and exchanges in the field of photobiophysics.

The conference featured presentations on such topics as upconversion fluorescence-enabled ultra-long timescale, low phototoxicity super-resolution imaging, the application of nanomaterials in radiosensitization, the reversible switching of photoprotection, the ultrafast dynamics of photosynthetic exciton energy dissipation, advancements in X-ray imaging technology and time-resolved small-angle X-ray scattering at beamline BL19U2.
