The Scientific Committee Meeting of the Urban Health and Wellbeing Programme (UHWB) was held from May 13 to 14 at the headquarters of the International Science Council (ISC) in Paris, France.

On behalf of the organizer, Salvatore Arico, ISC CEO gave a welcome speech. Yong-Guan Zhu, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and Science Director of the Institute of Urban Environment (IUE), CAS, delivered a video speech. Yuming Zheng, Deputy Director of IUE, CAS, attended and delivered a speech on behalf of the host.

Lan Wang, Chair of the Scientific Committee and Dean of the College of Architecture and Urban Planning of Tongji University, Mari Vaattovaara, Director of Helsinki Institute of Urban and Regional Studies of the University of Helsinki, Roderick J. Lawrence of the University of Geneva, Guru Madhavan, Senior Director of the US National Academy of Engineering, Rumiana Jeleva, Senior Researcher of Institute of Philosophy and Sociology, Bulgarian Academy of Sciences were invited to attend the meeting. Vanessa McBride, ISC Science Director, Katsia Paulavets, ISC Senior Science Officer and Giselle Sebag, Executive Director of the International Society for Urban Health (ISUH) joined the discussion on behalf of the co-organizers.

Yupeng Liu, Executive Director of UHWB moderated the meeting and introduced the science and action plan for the next phase of UHWB. Participants discussed the overall goals, scientific actions, and cooperation network for the next phase and reached a consensus on enhancing scientific awareness, strengthening application practice, and promoting policy adoption.

After the meeting, Yuming Zheng and Yupeng Liu further communicated with the co-organizers regarding to the renewal plan of UHWB. All parties will jointly promote future development and improve the global impact of the programme.
