Hosted by the Chinese Society of Biomedical Engineering and organized by Hainan University, the 9th National Biomedical Engineering Innovative Design Competition for College Students is set to be held from July 22 to 26, 2024, in Sanya, South China's Hainan province.

The competition aims to offer guidance centered around clinical applications to students, improve their problem-solving abilities, enhance sci-tech innovation and cooperation among college students, usher in the disciplinary development of biomedical engineering, deepen industry-university-research collaboration, and build a practical platform for the cultivation of excellent experts in biomedical engineering.

Focusing on trendy topics in biomedicine such as human well-being, disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment and recovery, the week-long competition will recognize a variety of innovative designs capable of meeting clinical demands in related fields.

Consisting of sectors such as lectures on cutting-edge technologies, demonstration of high-end medical equipment, and presentations, it will provide participating students and faculty with a feast of knowledge in biomedical engineering.

As of April 18, the deadline for online registration, the competition has drawn the active participation of nearly 12,000 students from around 250 universities, including Tsinghua University, Peking University, Zhejiang University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and Fudan University, among others.
