The expanded meeting of the CCS Chemistry Editorial Board was held in Guangzhou, South China's Guangdong province on June 14, 2024.
Zhang Xi, editor-in-chief, delivered an insightful lecture summarizing the latest advances achieved by CCS Chemistry. The meeting also featured in-depth discussions on AI policies for the journal, special recommendations, strategies to enhance international influence, and promotion tactics, with participants offering valuable suggestions for the journal's future development.
Milestone Achievements
✦ Submission Growth: Celebrating its fifth anniversary in 2023, CCS Chemistry has seen consistent growth in the quality and volume of submissions, receiving over 1,100 submissions3—a 24% increase compared to 2022.
✦ Publication and Citation Growth: Over the past five years, CCS Chemistry has published more than 1,000 articles, accumulating over 20,000 citations and 2.6 million downloads. Contributors from over ten countries and regions, including China, the US, Singapore, and Germany, have enhanced the journal’s global reach and impact. The journal's first impact factor has reached an impressive 11.2, and four papers were recognized as "Excellent Academic Papers" by the China Association for Science and Technology.
✦ Special Columns Gaining Traction: The "Editorial" and "Author Spotlight" columns have garnered increasing attention. To date, 163 authors from 14 countries and regions have shared their research experiences and stories in the "Author Spotlight".
✦ Journal Promotion: The CCS Chemistry website has logged over 6.4 million visits, with nearly half of these coming from international visitors. The journal also saw a growing presence on new media platforms, with its WeChat official account amassing over 26,000 followers and over 1 million total reads. Additionally, its Twitter and Facebook accounts have a combined following of more than 7,700, with total views exceeding 1.8 million.
The meeting underscored the journal's commitment to maintaining high standards and continuing its trajectory of growth and influence in the global scientific community.
