Among the awarded innovations was an intelligent mining system, which serves as a comprehensive solution for monitoring, early warning, and escape planning in the event of mine disasters, utilizing AI technologies.

This system includes various modules for the underground mining area division, regional inspection equipment, personnel identity recognition, monitoring safety gear of mining personnel, analyzing mining behavior, and collecting physical fitness parameters. It also contains a safety database, safety analysis module, management server, voice warning terminal, and display terminal.

The system tracks and identifies dangerous mining behaviors while collecting physical fitness data from personnel. By integrating and analyzing this information, the system calculates individual mining risk coefficients for each miner in their respective areas, identifying those exhibiting high-risk behaviors. This enables effective monitoring and management of underground mining personnel safety, ultimately contributing to the protection of their lives.

During the opening ceremony on Sept 5, the Gansu Association for Science and Technology (GSAST) signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the Chinese Society of Biotechnology (CSBT). The two parties announced their commitment to developing industries such as biomedicine, bio-agriculture, and bio-manufacturing, engaging in comprehensive strategic cooperation in areas including strengthening academic exchanges, building collaborative innovation service platforms, establishing think tanks, transforming scientific and technological achievements, and sharing resources for technological investment.

Strengthening cooperation and connecting supply and demand resources is a crucial measure for the China Association for Science and Technology to promote the construction of a "Science and Technology Innovative China" and facilitate the deep integration of science and technology with the economy. According to the agreement, the GSAST and CSBT will leverage their respective resource advantages, focusing on the development of industries such as biomedicine, bio-agriculture, bio-manufacturing, and environmental protection.

The GSAST and CSBT will adhere to the principles of "resource sharing, platform building, win-win cooperation, and shared development," seeking strategic cooperation in eight areas: strengthening academic exchanges, establishing industry collaborative innovation service platforms, conducting research and think tank cooperation, promoting innovation and the transformation of achievements, assessing scientific and technological achievements, assisting enterprises in applying for major scientific research projects, and establishing shared resources for investment attraction.

In the future, the two parties will organize high-level academic conferences, industry forums, and scientific and technological exchanges in relevant disciplines in Gansu, as well as conduct research on development strategies. They will promote collaborative innovation development between industry, academia, and research, tackle key common technologies in industries, transform scientific and technological achievements, formulate group standards, promote practical technologies, provide technical support, and facilitate project connections as part of high-quality public services in science and technology.

They will also support industry scientific and technological professionals in joining national societies, assist outstanding industry experts in applying for national academicians, and support excellent scientific and technological innovators in Gansu in participating in selection activities for the "National Award for Excellence in Innovation," "China Youth Science and Technology Award," and "China Young Women in Science Award."

The duration of this strategic cooperation is three years, during which both the GSAST and CSBT will establish consultation, promotion, and evaluation mechanisms to ensure that the cooperation achieves solid results. They aim to create a model for provincial science and technology associations and national social organizations to cooperate in serving local economic development, contributing to the high-quality development of the biotechnology industry in Gansu and across the country.
