Wan Gang, President of the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST), met with Sylvia Schattauer, President of Clausthal University of Technology (Technische Universitaet Clausthal, TU Clausthal) and her delegation in Beijing on September 20, 2024.
The two sides exchanged views on topics related to strengthening Sino-German scientific and cultural exchanges and cooperation.

Wan Gang briefed the attendees about the CAST's major priorities. He elaborated China's efforts in promoting low-carbon and green transformation, and its achievements in new energy vehicles (NEVs) as well.
Wan expressed his hope to promote in-depth exchanges among technology professionals and young researchers between the two institutions. He expected increased cooperation in the fields of engineering and circular economy in the future.
Schattauer presented TU Clausthal's recent advances in the circular economy and sustainable development.
She anticipated more cooperation with the Chinese sci-tech communities and universities to cultivate high-quality engineering and technological innovators.
