Blending Virtual and Physical Participation
The event, co-organized by the Chinese Physical Society (CPS) and IUPAP, was a blend of virtual and physical participation, drawing representatives from 26 countries for face-to-face discussions over a week-long period.
A Rich Scientific Program
The event, in conjunction with the 2024CPS Fall Meeting, was packed with enriching sessions such as the Women in Physics Working Group Meeting/Roundtable, a special session of the IUPAP Public Lecture focusing on Nobel Prize in Physics laureates, and the IUPAP Special Symposium on Physics Research for a Sustainable Earth.
A Catalyst for Broader Engagement
The convening of this high-level international conference has significantly enhanced mutual understanding between China and the international physics community, notably elevating the international status and image of Chinese physicists. It plays a vital role in promoting broader international exchanges and collaborations for Chinese scientists, facilitating deeper involvement in international decision-making processes, and advancing the development of the field of physics.
