From November 10–13, 2024, the American Society of Agronomy (ASA), Crop Science Society of America (CSSA), and Soil Science Society of America (SSSA) held their International Annual Meeting in San Antonio, Texas. As part of the event, the Soil Science Society of China (SSSC) and SSSA co-hosted a symposium themed “Enhancing Climate Resilience and Promoting Planetary Health.”
The Chinese delegation, led by SSSC President Prof. Jiabao Zhang, included Prof. Song Xin, Prof. Jianming Xu, and Prof. Bingzi Zhao. Building on a 2021 MoU and a joint working group, this first in-person event highlighted the growing significance of their partnership.
This symposium served as a vital platform for researchers from both nations to exchange insights and foster collaborative growth. Through ongoing enhancement of bilateral partnerships, these two societies aim to leverage soil science knowledge and solutions to promote sustainable development for humanity.
