The 2024 Tongming Lake Forum opened at the Tongming Lake Convention Center in Beijing Economic and Technological Development Area (Beijing E-Town) on Dec 25.
This forum comprised five sections including the opening ceremony and main forum, parallel sub-forums, high-end closed-door meetings, achievements exhibition, and special contests.
It gathered distinguished guests such as Ni Guangnan and Shen Changxiang, academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering.
During the opening ceremony, the forum announced ten major development trends in innovative information technology applications for 2025, as well as multiple achievements in operating system software ecology and service platforms.
The AI sub-committee of the national standards committee in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region was established, releasing eight national standards, including those for AI management systems and algorithm assessment.
Meanwhile, the national park for the information technology application innovation industry in E-Town has become home to over ten key projects with a total investment exceeding 10 billion yuan ($1.37 billion).
More than ten distinct and content-rich sub-forums were held concurrently, focusing on innovative applications of information technology in sectors such as education, finance, security, transportation, and power.
The new-generation information technology industry, one of the four leading industries in the area, has congregated over 90 percent of the top information technology companies in the country.
It covers the entire industrial chain, from upstream to downstream, including CPUs, operating systems, databases, servers, complete machine terminals, supercomputing, network security services, and application software, achieving a fully integrated industrial chain and forming a basic independent system.
In 2024, the output value of the new-generation information technology industry in E-Town is expected to exceed 160 billion yuan, with a year-on-year growth rate of about 30.7 percent compared to 2023.
The 2024 Tongming Lake Forum saw the participation of officials from relevant departments in Beijing, experts and scholars in information technology nationwide, and representatives from businesses.
