Key AI initiative to boost BRICS collaboration

The inauguration ceremony of the China-BRICS Artificial Intelligence Development and Cooperation Center's operational base is held in Shanghai on Jan 3.

The operational base of the China-BRICS Artificial Intelligence Development and Cooperation Center, a dynamic hub for AI innovation, was officially inaugurated in Xuhui District, Shanghai, on Jan 3.


Xuhui District currently hosts 34 large-scale AI models registered with relevant authorities, accounting for nearly 60% of Shanghai's overall count. It is also home to Mosu, or Model Speed Space, China’s first large-model innovation community. Since its establishment in late September 2023, the space has attracted around 100 AI startups.


During the event, representatives from leading AI startups shared insights into their global strategies.


They collectively commended the opportunities emerging from the restructuring of global supply chains, with many clients broadening their international reach, which presents substantial growth potential for Chinese AI enterprises.


These representatives also underscored the pivotal role of the BRICS market, asserting that advanced language models act as crucial bridges in breaking down linguistic barriers and promoting international engagement. Meanwhile, They are dedicated to crafting solutions specifically for the BRICS nations.


The launch of the operational base is expected to deepen AI collaboration among BRICS nations, driving innovation and advancing global AI development.
