On June 30, 2025, Shuai Zhigang, Vice President of the Chinese Chemical Society (CCS), visited the headquarters of the Société Chimique de France (SCF) at the invitation of SCF. During the visit, he and Gilberte Chambaud, President of SCF, renewed the bilateral cooperation agreement between the two societies.
CCS and SCF established a partnership in 2013 and jointly launched the China-France Chemistry Lectureship Award, which recognizes outstanding chemists from both countries engaged in frontline scientific research. The award alternates annually between Chinese and French recipients, who are supported to visit research institutions in the partner country, fostering academic exchange and collaboration. Over the past decade, the award has gained broad recognition and high standing within the international chemistry community.
Under the renewed agreement, both societies reaffirmed their commitment to deepening collaboration and strengthening academic exchanges, aiming to further advance research cooperation between chemists in China and France.
