Insect Science publishes fully open access research in all fields of entomology. This includes, but is not limited to the behavior, biogeography, ecology, physiology, biochemistry, sociobiology, phylogeny, exotic incursions and pest management of insects and other terrestrial arthropods.

The emphasis of the journal is on the adaptation and evolutionary biology of insects from the molecular to the ecosystem level.
