At the May 30 celebratory event for 2023 National Science and Technology Workers Day, CAST, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Science and Technology, and several other departments jointly announced the names of the designated Science Spirit Education Bases for the year 2023. Among the selected units was the Chemistry Scientist Spirit Education Base at Peking University.

Since the 2023 Notice on the Construction and Service of Science Spirit Education Bases was issued, CAST has received an enthusiastic response from across the country. A total of 669 units from 162 prefecture-level cities applied, including science and technology museums, research labs, significant scientific and technological projects, research institutes, memorials and residences of notable scientists, middle schools and universities, and science & technology enterprises.

These Education Bases have engaged broader society in promoting the spirit of scientists through a variety of educational activities. This designation will help cultivate an environment that deeply respects knowledge, advocates innovation, values talent, fosters love for science, and encourages dedication to scientific pursuits.
