Theoretical & Applied Mechanics Letters (TAML) is an international journal devoted to rapid communications on novel and original research in the field of mechanics.

TAML is aimed at publishing novel, cutting-edge research findings in theoretical, computational, and experimental mechanics. The journal provides rapid publication of letter-sized articles and invited reviews, and publishes every 5 weeks on average. It focuses on advances in science, engineering, and technology and covers a variety of topics such as:

• Aerospace and Aeronautical Engineering

• Coastal and Ocean Engineering

• Environment and Energy Engineering

• Material and Structural Engineering

• Biomedical Engineering

• Mechanical and Transportation Engineering

• Civil and Hydraulic Engineering

Sponsored by the Institute of Mechanics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IMCAS) and the Chinese Society of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics (CSTAM), TAML was launched in 2011 as the official publication of the Beijing International Center for Theoretical and Applied Mechanics (BICTAM).

In January 2021, TAML officially became an open-access journal, with its aims and scope, editorial team, and peer review system remaining unchanged. All papers published in TAML are permanently available on ScienceDirect.
