With the support of the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the International Hydrogen Fuel Cell Association (IHFCA) and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) jointly launched the comprehensive demonstration and application project of green hydrogen energy in Ningdong, Dalian, and Shenyang.

Following the concept phase of the project, the detailed implementation plan of the project was preliminarily formulated. To further improve the plan and determine the demonstration content, a collaborative field investigation took place in the above-mentioned cities, involving multiple experts, professors, and researchers from academia and involved parties. Additionally, a content coordination seminar centering around the "Global Environment Facility (GEF) - China Green Hydrogen Comprehensive Demonstration and Application Project" was held in Beijing from March 21 to 22, 2024.

On Mar 11, the inspection team conducted field investigations at the Ningdong Energy and Chemical Industry Base, investigated the Qingshuiying Hydrogen Production Station, 120,000-kilowatt Hydrogen Production Photovoltaic Equipment, and Yongli Hydrogen Refueling Station. Meanwhile, a project workshop was organized to reinforce exchanges, as well as deliberations on the current situation and potential of the green hydrogen industry development within Ningdong Base.

The team embarked on a visit to Shenyang on March 13 and further traveled to Dalian on March 15. During these visits, they toured Huatong Automobile Supply Chain Group,  examined the hydrogen fuel cell buses of FAW Coach (Dalian) Co., Ltd, and met with representatives of other project-undertaking units. They engaged in in-depth exchanges with the representatives of these enterprises and discussed the progress of green hydrogen industry development, technological innovation capabilities, and market demand.

The inspection team conducted on-site research at the Dalian Boiler Inspection Institute Hydrogen Energy Testing Center.

The Content Coordination Seminar was held at Beijing Railway Station from Mar 21 to 22. In addition to the inspection team, industry experts, representatives of the project demonstration areas, and the related enterprises attended the seminar.

The meeting focused on the policies, standards, regulations, and capacity building of the GEF-8 project. These aspects were extensively discussed and confirmed with representatives of each demonstration area. All parties expressed their commitment to advancing China's green hydrogen industry development.
