updated: 2024-05-07 09:36:56

Jointly organized by the Chinese Physical Society (CPS), Beijing Normal University (BNU), Peking University (PKU), Beihang University (BUAA), the China Institute of Atomic Energy (CIAE), Fudan University (FDU), the Institute of Modern Physics (IMP), Lanzhou University (LZU), Nanjing University (NJU) and Tsinghua University (THU), and co-organized by Beijing Normal University and Peking University, the 4th NUclear physics School for Young Scientists (NUSYS2024) will take place at Zhuhai, South China's Guangdong province, from July 27 to Aug 2, 2024.

It will bring together internationally renowned experts to deliver a series of speeches on frontier nuclear physics and its applications and synchronize the current situation of advanced nuclear facilities that are in operation or development in Asia, such as HIAF (High-Intensity heavy-ion Accelerator Facility), JUNA (Jinping Underground Nuclear Astrophysics), SLEGS (Shanghai Laser Electron Gamma Source), and BISOL in China.

The program aims to inspire PhD and postdoctoral students as well as young researchers by exposing them to the various facets of nuclear physics and its applications. It will also provide insights into the prospects of the forthcoming nuclear facilities in East Asia.

Each student is expected to contribute by presenting a poster related to their work. The organizing committee together with the invited lecturers will select the top six posters for oral presentation.

The application is currently open and will conclude on May 15, 2024. The application form, to be filed out by the student, can be found on its official website. Applicants are required to submit an abstract for the poster and a statement outlining self-introduction, motivation, and expectations from attending NUSYS2024. Additionally, a recommendation letter needs to be sent directly to the school's email address: nusys_china@163.com to support the application.

The total number of participants will be limited to 80. Selection of participants will be conducted by the organization committee.

Further details will be disclosed in the upcoming second circular.
